“One of the most satisfying new plays to reach Broadway
in the past decade."
-- The Wall Street Journal
FUSION welcomes and celebrates the return of TIME STANDS STILL playwright Donald Margulies with his comedy/drama THE COUNTRY HOUSE. A long-standing first family of the theatre gathers for their annual observance of the Williamstown Theatre Festival. In fine Chekhovian fashion, there is much talk of a new play, fraught relationships, an aching for real substantive art and then there is a turn in the family's attention. Loss obscures their sights and leads them into a world that can no longer tolerate facade or the play act. As each family member is touched by the living memory of the deceased, they rediscover the bond of tenderness, resolve, and tenacity that has always powered those of the theatrical bent to tell their stories to one another and to their beloved audience. FUSION favorite and veteran, Gil Lazier directs.
