OFFICIAL NOTICE REGARDING COVID-19
All productions/events scheduled to take place at the FUSION Forum (The Cell, @708, the outdoor stage) are postponed indefinitely. Of course, this is subject to further change. We are working diligently to reschedule every event, and all existing tickets will be honored at those events. Once we finalize the scheduling, all ticket holders will be contacted directly. We appreciate your patience during this period.
FUSION's last rehearsal for The Antipodes was Tuesday night. It was extremely difficult to have to inform the cast & crew of the postponement, as they were working incredibly hard on an extremely difficult piece, in true repertory fashion. The Antipodes, when rescheduled, is going to be a terrific production, featuring our largest cast since 2010's "August: Osage County".
This hiatus is going to be extremely difficult for everyone. The non-profit arts world, in particular, inhabits a fragile ecosystem. It is a very real possibility that some organizations might not survive the course of the next several months.FUSION filed its 501-c-3 paperwork with the IRS two weeks after 9/11. Then survived the horror of the financial meltdown in 2008. This too shall pass, and FUSION will survive, with help from the entire Family, community. In 2001 and 2008 the recoveries were fueled by gatherings of all sizes, featuring close proximity with each other, companionship as healing. This time it is different. Social distance, mitigation, containment, self-quarantine; horrible new buzzwords arrive daily. Rest assured that in this time of separation and segregation, our local arts organizations are working to band together to address the challenges now on our front stoop and in our homes. The Rio Grande has been breached.
We will be updating you frequently. Take care of yourselves! Love your family and beyond! Practice the CDC precautions! We can't wait to see you again at the theatre! Our very best to you on this leg of the journey... (Wow! Even without a show I was able to get a curtain speech in.......)
Sincerely,
Dennis Gromelski
Executive Director, FUSION
