NEW REALISM: A CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBIT
“New Realism: A Contemporary Art Exhibit” curated by Martinart Studios . This exhibition will focus on realist artists whose art has a story to tell, and whose many-layered works of art communicate, with depth and meaning, the story of our diverse society. Painting, sculpture, mixed media, fiber, printmaking, photography, and other forms of art are included.

Since the beginning of time, artists have used the visible world as a source for art making. The 20th Century broke away from the real world to investigate the inner workings of the conscious and the unconscious mind. All the “isms” in the art world—cubism, surrealism, constructivism, minimalism, and abstractionism, just to name a few—could NOT overpower REALISM. Realist art is still being made today and is more powerful than ever!

MARTINART STUDIOS CURATOR’S STATEMENT
Art is making something out of nothing. Art is asking the big questions. Art is Drawing a line somewhere. Art must make us think and feel something when we encounter it, wherever we encounter it. Art is a passion to create. Art is many different things to many different people.

As a curator I look for those qualities that are original, experimental, thought provoking, innovative, passionate, and executed with the highest quality, skill, and professionalism. I prefer to view art initially from E-Media then follow up with a visit to the artist studio. All Art Matters.
