Film Industry Happy Hour Mixer and Film Composer Presentation with Elizabeth Garland
FUSION Film Series Premiere Event

As the premiere event of “FUSION’S Film Series,” Elizabeth Garland—one of Albuquerque’s Urban Enhancement Trust Fund (UETF) Resiliency Residency artists—invites you to come out for a happy hour mixer with other film industry professionals. Afterwards, stay for the short composer presentation and get YOUR questions answered.

Can I afford to hire a composer to score my film? What is a SYNC license? How do I hire someone to score my film? What’s a temp track? Where do I look to find a composer? What’s underscore? What’s the general process from hiring through the final mix?

If you’ve ever asked these questions or wondered about the process of working with a composer, this presentation is for you!

Elizabeth Garland, FUSION Artist-in-Residence, is a NM-based award-winning film composer. Her work has been featured in films, documentaries and on stage in the US and abroad. She recently completed her studies in the Film and TV Scoring Program at Berklee College of Music. She is the 2022 Unsigned Only Winner (Instrumental).

Tracey Whitney of the Local 618 Musicians Union will also be present to discuss how to go about hiring New Mexico’s premiere film musicians.
