Call to Artists
Submit your art to be considered for an upcoming exhibit curated by Martinart Studios: “New Realism: A Contemporary Art Exhibit” (Part of the Two Moons Exhibits Series) to be featured in FUSION’s gallery.
Deadline for Submissions: Saturday, July 1, 2023
Since the beginning of time, we have used the visible world as a source for art making. The 20th Century broke away from the real world to investigate the inner workings of the conscious and the unconscious mind. All the “isms” in the art world—cubism, surrealism, constructivism, minimalism, and abstractionism, just to name a few—could NOT overpower REALISM. Realist art is still being made today and is more powerful than ever! This exhibition will focus on realist artists whose art has a story to tell, and whose many-layered works of art communicate, with depth and meaning, the story of our diverse society. This exhibit will reflect the many varied styles of realist art, including photorealism, impressionism, expressionism, and all the way to folk and naïve art.
All media will be considered: painting, sculpture, mixed media, fiber, printmaking, photography, and all other new and unusual forms of art making. Selected artists will be required to review, sign, and return a commitment package, containing all the exhibit information, prior to moving forward. A studio visit may be requested by the curator. There are no entry fees for the artist to participate and no commission on any sale.
