THE 48 HOUR FILM PROJECT
Founded in 2001 by Mark Ruppert & Liz Langston, “The 48 Hour Film Project” is the world’s largest timed film challenge! Albuquerque is just one of the 100+ cities who host this competition where registered teams write, shoot and edit their own movies within 48 hours using a random genre, prop, line of dialogue and character. After the competition weekend, films are shown in a movie theatre and then celebrated with an awards ceremony. This year, the team that wins “Best City Film” goes on to compete in Lisbon at our international film festival (Filmapalooza) for a chance to win a spot at the Cannes Film Festival.
