FUSION Social Club February 28
FUSION Social Club will welcome Director and Owner of Lapis Room, Laura Houghton on February 28th, at 10 AM in the FUSION | 708 Lobby. She will share her background as an artist, what inspired her to open Lapis Room, and how she uniquely nurtures and inspires the artists she represents in the gallery. Casual conversation will continue at Novel Point Coffee from 11:00–11:30. Social Club is FREE of charge and full of LIFE.  Please RSVP if you plan to attend.

LAURA HOUGHTON is the owner and director of Lapis Room, a dynamic contemporary art gallery located in Old Town Albuquerque. Her experience includes curating art exhibitions, large-scale multimedia attractions, horticulture displays, and outreach events. She loves designing beautiful spaces that are inclusive and sustainable, with community in the forefront of each idea. Laura grew up in Ruidoso, NM, and received her BFA at Arizona State University. She feels at home in both the immense ponderosa pines, and amongst the clever jumping cholla. She has great admiration for the American Southwest and is the most fulfilled when advocating for artists of the area.

Lapis Room is a vibrant art center dedicated to providing thought-provoking and beautiful works of art to the Albuquerque Old Town district. The Gallery was created to elevate a diverse selection of artists that are truly representative of Southwest contemporary culture. We seek to offer a multi-sensory experience with themes of connection, impermanence, and the beauty behind the ever-complicated human spirit.

Adding to the rich experience, Lapis Room is connected to Noisy Water Winery’s Old Town Tasting Room. Enjoy a glass of wine or cider while being immersed in Southwest art.
