JD Nash and the Rash of Cash
With Jimmy Deveney & the Hold Fast Union and Benny Bassett
JD Nash and the Rash of Cash are one of the Southwest’s top Alt. Country acts, garnering praise from fans of the genre for their catchy originals. For the 2nd year in a row, JD was voted as one of the top 5 musicians in Albuquerque the Magazine’s Best of Albuquerque Issue (December/January 2024 issue). This year, JD and the ROC are playing shows in support of their newly recorded full-length album Like Water. The title track and first single chronicles the drying up of precious water sources, and imagines the impossible future if we continue to take our water sources for granted.
Like Water was recorded at the legendary Sonic Ranch studios in El Paso, where the likes of legendary artists such as Jenny Lewis, Old 97s, Midland, Cody Jinks, and many others have recorded.

Jimmy Deveney & the Hold Fast Union
Jimmy Deveney & the Hold Fast Union is the natural evolution of singer and songwriter Jimmy Deveney’s musical journey after moving back to his hometown of Albuquerque. Deveney spent many years touring with various bands based in Austin, TX. Once back in New Mexico, he sought like-minded individuals to explore the boundaries of soul, Americana, and indie rock music. He eventually found drummer/engineer/producer Matthew Tobias and bassist/songwriter Jeff Wilson. Together, they made the 2023 release “High Desert Soul” and solidified the band lineup by adding Ken “Southpaw” Easton on keys and vocals and Charlie Elmore on guitar and vocals. They have been playing shows and working on new material in the studio ever since.
Musically, the band provides catchy, soulful grooves, rich vocal harmonies, and relatable lyrics about the human condition, the good, the bad, and the in-between. They draw on the rich tapestry of American soul music and their individual influences, from indie rock to Americana and punk rock. You can bet you can relate to it and move to it.
You can watch a live performance of “High Desert Soul” on KRQE’s “New Mexico Living”.
