SONICALITY Workshop with Agnieszka Kazimierska
Contemplative practices of singing, sounding, and movement
What are the sounds of your experience?
Which melodies emerge from the inner landscapes you inhabit?
During the Sonicality workshop guided by Agnieszka Kazimierska, she invites you to engage in practices of sounding, singing, and movement that support your inner experiences and translate them into sound. You will create melodies and sounds that emerge from what you perceive. Step by step you will be guided to connect to your world of sensations, body feelings, and imagination and express them through voice and movement.
What you feel, how your body wants to move, the world of your imagination, your inner landscapes, and everything that comes to life in a given moment will become the ground for your vocal improvisation.
Your voice will serve as a way of connecting to yourself and interacting with others.
These sessions are a playground for exploring your vocal vocabulary. You will go out of the usual canons of musical education and away from concerns of “doing it right.” You will simply invite your voice to play for a moment along with the group.
This approach to singing is very intuitive. You don’t need to be a singer or think you know how to sing in order to participate. The Sonicality workshop is suitable for any person wanting to sing and play with their voice.
The sessions will include:
Guided practices with sound and movement
Intuitive vocal improvisation evolving from guided practices
Sung, improvised dialogues with others.
Singing songs/melodies /vocal compositions as an ensemble
Some of the elements that you might explore are texture and resonance of sound, the connection between voice and sensations, imagination, movement, intentions, and body memory.
What those practices might bring:
A sense of ease and being centered in the body
Connection to and release of emotional processes
An awakening of imagination and curiosity
Pleasure and delight in playing with your voice.
For Agnieszka Kazimierska, singing is a way of investigating her inner worlds, nurturing her intuition, and connecting to the wisdom of the Sentient. During Sonicality workshops she invites you to taste this approach to singing and knowing through sound.
There are a limited number of participants. Registration is required.
