ABOUT THE TRIO
ABOUT DANIEL WARD
Musician, composer, educator, and Tesuque resident Daniel Ward has toured the world playing flamenco guitar with Ottmar Liebert and dance troupes Yjastros, Dance España, and Maria Benitez. He’s played locally with Santa Fe Opera, for Chatter and in Opera Southwest, and everywhere nationally – even Austin City Limits. Recently, Dan has been touring and teaching at music festivals around the globe, including Europe, China, Japan, Canada, and all over the US. He has scored music for film, television, and video and was an artist in residence at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, AZ.
ABOUT JOHN BARTLIT
Percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Burqueňo John Bartlit received a music performance degree from UNM and was on staff for twelve years. John's trademark versatility is demonstrated in his credits: New Mexico Symphony, New Mexico Marimba Band, John Lewis of the Modern Jazz Quartet, Chris Calloway, John Cage, the International Flamenco Festival, several dance troupes, and his own invention, 21st-century vaudeville act Skümbaag. He has a platinum album with Robbie Robertson, film credits, and premier recordings of works by modern composers. He was born five hours before and in the same Los Alamos hospital as Daniel. He has played with Ward since 1983.
ABOUT ROB “MILO” JARAMILLO
Bassist Rob "Milo" Jaramillo studied at UNM and went on to perform with John Lewis, Tommy Berndtsson, Bill Watrous, Tony Quinones, Hillary Smith, Ritmo Caliente, and Chris Calloway. He has toured throughout the U.S., Australia, and Cuba with the Pink Flamingoes, Yoboso, & Ritmo Caliente. Home is the Isleta Indian Reservation. Milo has played with Ward since 1987 and with Bartlit even before that.
